All major cruise lines operate a shuttle service to transport cruisers between Fort Lauderdale Airport and Miami cruise port. Check with your cruise company or travel agent you will need to book a seat well in advance.

These shuttle buses are very convenient and easy but they do not come cheap. Expect to pay at least $30 per person each way. If youre traveling solo, that may seem quite affordable. However, for a family of 4, that could cost a total of $240 for transfers to and from the port. Ouch!

From Fort Lauderdale/hollywood International Airport

If you are flying into Fort Lauderdale and want to go straight to your cruise ship there are a few options for you. The airport is very close to the cruise terminal via U.S. 1.

The quickest and arguably simplest option is to take a taxi from the airport and have them drive you to the port. Taxi fare will cost you about $10 to $15.

There are also other shuttles and private car/limousine services available to purchase. Shuttle services can be cheaper, especially with larger parties but may take longer. Private sedan/limousine service will be more elegant than a taxi but cost more.

Bestwestern Airport/cruise Port Or Bestwestern Deerfield

going to stay 4 nights at one of these hotels and I am wondering which one is best to stay at as far as we are flying into fort lauderdale and cruising out of port everglades I know airport/cruise is much closer but we will not have a rental car and also wondering if we are going to sight see or take in some attractions which area would be best to stay in. the deerfield is also close to $100 cheaper for the 4 days but my costs to hotel from airport will be more and to the cruise ship. Just want to enjoy our time there

Neither of them is a good choice if you want/need to do anything other than sit by a pool. They are both out in the middle of nowhere on highways, but as you noticed , the Deerfield location is very far away – at an Interstate exit way north of town. The other one is closer in but still on a lonely road with not much around it- and not an area where you can walk to anything of interest to tourists. Few restaurants near it either.. That is why they agree to shuttle you from the Airport and to the ship. Most people who stay there are in for the night or pay $25 or so each way for a taxi to thetourist area.

Keep in mind that motels are expensive here and you pretty much get what you pay for. No motel on or near 24th St is a good location if you want to do anything but stay in your room or maybe sit by a small unimpressive pool.
