Night San Diego Baja Cruise
Sailing on 3/18/22. This 2-night cruise is the Shortest Disney Cruise available.
Is a 2 night Disney Cruise worth it? We would say that any Disney Cruise is worth it! However, really do think about whether or not a 2-night cruise is the right one for you.
It can be a great idea if you have never sailed before and want to get a taste of what it is like.
However, you do need to be aware that you do not spend very much time on the ship and that the cost per night tends to be very high. You will board on Friday lunchtime, usually around noon at the very earliest.
You will spend one complete day on the ship, where you will be docked in Ensenada .
You will barely have time to unpack as on Sunday morning you will be leaving the ship as you Disembark.

How Important Is The Pool
A pools a pool, and all family-friendly ships feature them, but water parks bring out everyones inner child. Carnival, known for its signature slides, ups the energy on its newer and refurbished ships with longer, windier slides that snake, twirl and even flush passengers.
Young kids and grade schoolers relish Royal Caribbeans tame H20 Zone, which brings out the giggles with geysers, water guns, and small pools. Tweens, teens and adults test their skills on RCIs FlowRider, a surf simulator.
Disneys revamped Magic features a thrill slide and a water play area for young kids. AquaDuck elicits screams by partially extending over the ships side while swirling you down 212 feet. Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have similar slides. At AquaLab, younger kids and parents get wet by going down a family slide, getting caught by the bucket dump and running through geysers.

Disney Port Of San Diego Tips

San Diego is a beautiful port and the Cruise Terminal is right in the heart of the downtown area of the city. If you can, make sure to spend some time before or after your cruise in this wonderful city.
The San Diego Cruise port address is B Street Pier 1140 N Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. It is very conveniently located just across the street from the Amtrak Train Station.
The San Diego port is only about 3 miles away from the International Airport. Too far to walk, but it is an easy car ride to the port. It will take less than 10 minutes unless the traffic is particularly bad!
We think that if you are arriving at the San Diego airport and just want to get to the port, a ride-sharing service is a great idea.
An Uber will only cost around $10 to $12. Lyft will be slightly less at around $8. The most expensive option from the Airport to the Port will be a taxi which will cost in the region of $20.
There is public transport from the airport to the cruise port. This costs $2.25 per person each way.
The bus you need is the 992 which runs from the airport to downtown via the cruise port. Obviously, this is the most economical way, but really a ride-sharing service isnt too much more if there are 3 or more guests in your party.

San Diego Will Soon Be Home To Four Cruise Ships For The Next Several Weeks As The Holland America And Princess Cruise Lines Prepare For The Time When They Will Be Allowed To Transport Passengers On Voyages To Us And Foreign Ports

Barred from sailing for the last nine months because of the pandemic, several cruise ships are making their way to San Diego this month, but dont expect to see thousands of passengers boarding or disembarking from the ocean liners.
The extended visit by the Holland America cruise ships is the first step toward getting certified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the time when they will be able to begin welcoming passengers aboard next year.
For now, its not likely San Diego will see cruise lines resuming voyages until at least the spring, but even then it remains uncertain how many ships that normally sail out of the port will have met all the federal requirements.
The first of the four Holland America ships coming here the Koningsdam arrived at the B Street Pier on Wednesday. Because the vessels had not previously been in U.S. waters, they are taking that step now in order to begin laboratory testing of crew members on board. It is part of the first phase of the CDC process for the restart of cruising, which also requires the eventual launch of simulated voyages to test the ships ability to manage any outbreaks of COVID-19 on board.
During the time the Holland America ships are in San Diego, they will periodically return to the B Street Terminal to refuel and get more supplies. Each ship will average 90 to 120 crew members, who will not be allowed to disembark except for needed crew changes

Arizonans Are Interested In These Cruises
Not only is there more interest in cruise bookings among Arizonans, but theyre also booking longer itineraries than they did before the pandemic, Vazquez said.
On average, Arizonans are most interested in 14-night cruises this year, up from 10 nights in 2019, he said.
Cruises to Mexico from Southern California typically run shorter, while cruises to Alaska, Hawaii and Europe run longer because of the distances involved to get to the destination.

Do You Need A Passport For Cruises From San Diego
Yes and no. Customs and Border Control / Immigration officers coming back to the United States may not always require US Citizens to have a passport when traveling to Mexico or Canada. However, your cruise line will almost always require it. If you do not have a passport though, other documentation is generally required which can be complicated and time consuming or even disruptive if something happens where you need to leave the cruise ship for some reason.
Additionally, while a US Passport Card or even the Secure ID Drivers License cards are great for getting back into the United States at land crossings, we strongly recommend bringing your Passport Book to avoid any issues.

Where Do Cruise Ships Dock In San Diego
San Diego has two cruise ship piers located on the Embarcadero just minutes from the San Diego International Airport and the downtown Gaslamp Quarter entertainment district.
Depending on the date and cruise line, different piers are used for different cruises. Luckily, both the B Street Pier & Cruise Ship Terminal and Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier. B Street Pier is the larger of the two and is where the majority of cruise ships dock, this is especially true of the larger vessels like those from Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Carnival.

Disney Cruises Things To Do
- A Disney Cruise Line cruise is designed primarily for families and makes planning a family vacation super easy. Therefore, Disney Cruise Line vacations are directed to multigenerational families, particularly families with young children. However, that does not mean the cruise line forgets the adults, as it features adult-only specialty restaurants, nightclubs, and quiet pools on all its four ships. While the large staterooms attract families, they also invite interest from a small number of honeymooners, couples, and singles. Anyone who wants a more peaceful cruise vacation should choose sailing outside the summer months, as cruise-goers begin to subside and the pace is therefore slower. The people on a Disney cruise enjoy its youthful vibe, as is evidenced by the cruise line’s sail-away dance parties each of which connect some of Disney’s most lovable characters with Disney cruise guests. Pools are also designed for kid-friendly activities and adults who want to relive their childhood once again. If you love activities, such as miniature golf, ping-pong, or similar kid-friendly pastimes, you will feel right at home on a Disney cruise ship. In fact, anyone who loves Disney will also love a Disney cruise ship vacation.

Many cruise ships have arrived since february to sit anchored off at Bahía de la Paz in the Mexican State of Baja California Sur, most of them coming from Los Angeles area. According to some environmentalist groups, the ships are spilling oil and other susbtances as a result of their activity with no punishment form the local or federal authorities. Diverse organization and inhabitants of La Paz have gathered to ask the government to move away the ships.
At least four ocean cruise ships were turned away from ports of call or were prohibited from letting passengers disembark in the Americas this week because of Covid-19 cases aboard.
Though other cruises have had cases since US-based ships resumed service this summer with vaccine requirements and other measures meant to minimize outbreaks, the rate of cruises forced to alter their itineraries appears to have ticked up.
The disruptions still are a far cry from , when the pandemic shut down the industry and led to weeks of efforts to get already embarked passengers and crew members home as ports closed to virus-hit vessels.
The recent cruise ship disruptions include:
