Can I Get A Manual Transmission With My Connect And Cruise Kit

Yep, Chevrolet Performance now offers Connect and Cruise kits with Tremec Magnum, Super Magnum, and TR6060 transmissions. With these kits, you get the six-speed trans, bellhousing, and clutch kit, but you’ll still need to get some of the parts for the transmission’s hydraulic system. Lower hp engine kits will get stock-style aluminum bells, while the higher hp manual engines will get SFI-rated steel bellhousings.

Do They Offer Connect And Cruise Kits With Gen1 Small

Yes, Chevrolet Performance has Connect and Cruise kits based around our beloved small- and big-block engines. They even have options running carburetors for those that would prefer to go that route. All the kit however come with modern overdrive computer-controlled transmissions, such as the 4L65-E, 4L70-E, and 4L80-E. And, just like their LS and LT cousins, six-speed manual options are on the menu!

What’s included depends on which of the 84 kit configurations you choose. But a typical engine/trans kitlet’s assume an automaticwill include the engine, transmission, bellhousing, trans controller, torque converter, ECU with harness, and a transmission installation kit. Both the engine ECU and the trans controller will come pre-programmed to run the system, and typically the engine comes will all goodies typical of GM LS/LT crate engines such as throttle body, exhaust manifolds, and water pump along with the needed sensors.

GM engineers did all the heavy lifting by designing these systems to work together and function as a cohesive powertrain. They even come with warranties that, if you follow the stipulations, rival what you get when you buy a new car. The standard systems have 24-month, 50,000-mile warranties, while the E-ROD kits have 36-month, 50,000-mile warranties! E-ROD kits are specifically designed to pass emissions standards where required.

What Will I Need For A Ls Or Lt Swap

Aside from the Connect and Cruise kit, you’ll need a few things. Many of these are available through the Chevrolet Performance website and dealers, such as Scoggin Dickey and Summit Racing, but you can also shop around for solutions. Every CP crate engine comes with an oil pan however, there’s a good chance you’ll need to replace it with one that will work in your particular car. GM offers a variety of Holley pans that you can get from them or from numerous dealers.

You’ll also need the proper engine and transmission mounts, along with an aftermarket or modified transmission cross member. As mentioned earlier you’ll also need an accessory drive kit. A pulley kit can be as wallet-friendly or expensive as you want. Stock-style GM components will be less expensive, and billet aftermarket kits, such as the Eddie Motorsports drive system shown above, will be harder on your bank account. You will also need a fuel system, or the parts to modify your current fuel system, that will work with your chosen engine. Most people will also opt for headers instead of using the factory exhaust manifolds most Chevrolet Performance crate engines come with.
