Robert A.: We have stayed there and at The Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. Our favorite in Fort Lauderdale is the Hilton Marina very near the cruise port. Have stayed in this hotel several times. The view of the cruise ship harbor cannot be beaten. Pick a high floor with a balcony and tell them you want to have a view of the cruise ship docking area. You need to specify that you want in the main building, not one of the low rise smaller buildings that flank the main building. You will not be disappointed. Happy cruising

Fiona D. Excellent Hotel. Stayed there on several occasions when staying in Fort Lauderdale. Fabulous breakfast and Managers special wine and nibbles each evening. Small shopping area adjacent with several restaurants.
The Fort Lauderdale suites are blocks from the Broward County Convention Center and two miles from the beach. The Sun Trolley, with routes across the whole neighborhood, stops right outside THIS hotel.
They have an outdoor pool, patio, and discounted shuttles to and from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport and the cruise port. A free, full breakfast buffet is served daily.
How To Get From Your Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Hotel To The Cruise Terminal
Many hotels offer shuttles to the cruise terminal, but please dont do that!
The hotel shuttles are crowded and over-priced. Plus, they only leave at set times, which is kind of annoying.
Instead, . It will be less expensive and much less stressful too.
The last time my mom and I took an Uber from the Embassy Suites hotel to the Holland America cruise terminal, I ended up paying $13.
Tip: Leave early to avoid long lines. Most of the cruise terminals get busier later in the day, especially around 1-3pm. So leave for your cruise earlier vs. later to avoid long lines while security checks everyones passport/ID as they enter the cruise port terminal.
Another tip for the Fort Lauderdale cruise port terminal: Dont try to walk!!!
The cruise port terminal looks close. Its not!
Im a huge fan of walking, but the walk from your Fort Lauderdale cruise port hotel to the terminal itself will be hot and long and miserable. Thats a horrible way to start your vacation!
