New Orleans is lacking in the public transportation arena. The network is also very limited. The Riverfront Trolley line does stop just steps away from the nearby Convention Center, but it has a very limited route through the French Quarter.   • From I-10 East or West, exit at US 90 W .

  • Follow down ramp to ground level and turn right at the second stoplight onto Tchoupitoulas Street.
  • Turn left at the next stoplight onto Henderson Street and proceed for two blocks.
  • Turn left onto Port of New Orleans Place after crossing the railroad tracks
  • The Erato Street Cruise Terminal is located just past the bridge pier and the Julia Street Cruise Terminal is located just beyond Erato.
  • Do not try to access cruise terminals from the entrances to Port of New Orleans Place at Julia Street or Poydras Street.

Costa Toscanas New Winter Itinerary

As the lines 2021-built flagship, Costa Toscana will begin sailing its new winter 2022-23 itinerary beginning December 17, 2022, making two-day and one-night calls in Dubai, Muscat, and Abu Dhabi.

Through March 11, 2023, the flagships week-long winter itinerary will offer a flight+cruise package, providing guests convenience without worry about transfers to get to the ship or airport luggage arrival.

This Costa Toscana week-long itinerary to the United Arab Emirates and Oman will also allow guests who are not vaccinated to join and enjoy this cruise option, per Costa Cruises.

Currently, fully vaccinated guests will be able to embark on this itinerary without a pre-embarkation test, while non-fully vaccinated guests will need to show proof of a negative test result within 48 hours of embarkation.

Additionally, children under the age of five can now embark without vaccination or testing.

The New Years cruise onboard the new flagship will feature an overnight call in Dubai, allowing guests to celebrate the New Year in the most populated city in the United Arab Emirates .

Cruise Ship Calls Estimated For Port Of New Orleans In 2022

The Port of New Orleans has announced a big comeback for cruise ship operations with the Norwegian Breakaway arrival on Nov. 21, 2021. The Breakaway joins the Carnival Glory and Valor that successfully restarted ocean-going cruises in September and early November.

According to a press release, river cruises resumed successfully from the port in March 2021, and in September 2021 Carnival was the first to restart ocean-going cruises that have continued to consistently drive business back to the New Orleans market.

Port of New Orleans is forecasting 285 sailings during the 2022 calendar year and expecting nearly 1 million passenger movements, with the return of Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line slated for February.

All cruise lines operating from the port currently have vaccination, testing and mask wearing requirements in place as well as strict COVID-19 protocols beyond federal recommendations.

We are pleased ocean-going cruises are resuming and joining the successful restart of river cruises nine months ago, said Brandy D. Christian, president and CEO Port NOLA. Cruises from the Port of New Orleans are critical to the state and regional economy. Shared shuttle service to the pier is $13 per person and can be arranged at the kiosk located in the baggage area of the airport. Taxis are always lined up outside and charge a flat fee of $28 for the first two persons, $12 per person for three or more.

The Julia Street Cruise Terminal Complex building includes a four level, 1,000 car garage that offers the passenger convenient covered parking in a fully secure environment. Parking cost $14 per day, cash or credit card. Porters greet the passenger on the first floor of parking and check their luggage before parking. After parking, the passengers take the central elevators direct to the second floor embarkation deck to check in and board the cruise ship.

Covid Cases Found On Norwegian Cruise Ship Returning To New Orleans

The cruise ship Norwegian Breakaway, owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd , departed New Orleans on a weeklong cruise on Nov. 28 and had stops in Belize, Honduras and Mexico, the health agency said.

“NCL has been adhering to appropriate quarantine and isolation protocols,” the department said in a tweet.

The ship is set to reach New Orleans on Sunday morning, according to its itinerary.

Everyone on board will be tested for COVID-19 before leaving and will be provided with post-exposure and quarantine public health guidance by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .

People who test positive for COVID-19 will either travel to their homes or self-isolate according to CDC guidelines, the health agency said.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours.

Located at 1100 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, LA70130, Erato Street Cruise Terminal is the first one youll see when arrivingat the port. If this is your terminal, there is no need to go any further.

The parking garage is located on top of the terminal, and there is an access ramp to get there just beyond the terminal drop-off area. Parking is $20 per day from August 1st through March 31st and $22 from April 1st through July 31st.

Inside the terminal you will find check-in kiosks, a spacious waiting area, baggage area, an elevated loading ramp, customs, and a souvenir shop.
