Best Repositioning Cruises 2022 & 2023 Sail All Inclusive From Only 62 A Day
Repositioning cruises present a unique opportunity to cruise across the transatlantic enjoying two worlds while making the most of some banging deals.
Transatlantic repositioning cruises take place at various points throughout the year as cruise lines shift their ship depending on the season.
Many ships generally pass the winter in the Caribbean, for instance, offering cruises around the tropical islands, and then spend the spring and summer in the Mediterranean calling at Europes countless hotspots.
As Jo Rzymowska, Vice President and Managing Director of Celebrity Cruises, explained: In the late autumn, our transatlantic cruises sail from Europe to North America, whilst in the early spring, they depart from the United States and head back across the Atlantic.
Both offer a wealth of stunning destinations to explore from the sun-soaked Mediterranean, the Azores and Canary Islands, majestic Iceland and Greenland and the exotic Caribbean. The itinerary travellers choose will depend on what sort of holiday theyre looking for.
These repositioning cruises tend to be cheaper than other sailings as they include more days at sea but this doesnt need to be seen as a negative thing. According to travel agent Bolsover Cruises Club: Repositioning cruises are usually great value and more for those that love lazing away on sea days.

Where To Eat On Your Cruise
In short, there are a lot of places to dine while onboard your cruise. If you are hungry during your cruise, then you will not have to go very far to remedy that situation. Royal Caribbean offers a wealth of food to try, some of which is included in your cruise fare and some other options that have an additional cost.
When you book your cruise, you will have the option of picking traditional dining or My Time Dining. Each has its benefits, so be sure to compare My Time Dining versus Traditional Dining along side your own preferences to know which option will work the best.
Specialty dining is an emerging trend aboard their ships, where guests may elect to pay extra to dine at one of these restaurants. Each specialty restaurant is focused on a particular cuisine or food style that is often not available onboard the ship.
In terms of understanding how dining works and which areas cost extra and what is included, check out our guide to Royal Caribbean food as a good starting point. We also have an overview of whats included in your Royal Caribbean cruise fare to lay out exactly what costs extra and what does not.
Normal Cruise Crowds Are Coming
Once staffing issues return to normal something that is slowly happening the biggest concern may be whether the economy slows demand.
Carnival CEO Arnold Donald said he expects his company to get close to normal over the summer during the cruise line’s first-quarter earnings call.
“We’re well on our way back to full cruise operations, with three-quarters of our capacity having resumed guest operations and a plan to return the balance of the fleet for the summer season. And while the conversation around covid-19 is greatly reduced, we still have to and are successfully actively managing,” he said.
And while neither Carnival’s nor Royal Caribbean’s CEO said it directly, passengers sailing this summer will likely experience passenger counts in line with tradition.
That does not mean some sailings won’t have limited capacities, or sell poorly, but many will not as long as demand remains within historical norms.

Main Dining Room Menus Will Shrink
Royal Caribbean in November began testing some main dining room changes on Symphony of the Seas. That included offering slimmer menus that don’t include the “classics” section that’s currently offered every single night.
That section offered a few basic items — New York strip steak, spaghetti bolognese, a basic chicken, and a few others. Dropping it takes away a key option for people who aren’t that daring or those that simply like simple and familiar.
The cruise line has said it’s making the move to simplify service, cut waste, and speed up the dining process. Royal Caribbean has not released the new menus, but each night will have a theme like “Italian” or “Mexican” with the chef’s recommendations appearing at the top of the menu.
While the reasons behind the changes make sense, at the end of the day passengers will have fewer choices. The revised menus will begin rolling out in January but may not hit the full fleet until the end of the year.
