Vancouver Hotels Near Cruise Port
We will be disembarking Holland America in Vancouver and would like to stay near the port as we have an early morning flight out the next day. Our time in Vancouver is limited, but we would like to take hop on hop off bus and see a little of the city. Hotel suggestions? thank you.
Pretty much any hotel downtown will be a short walk or a 5-minute taxi ride away from the cruise ship port. Any downtown hotel will do. That gives you dozens upon dozens of options. My recommendation is to look on TripAdvisor and read up on the hotels located downtown that sound appealing and go with that. Downtown Vancouver is small and walkable and it’s where the bulk of the hotels in the city are, so again, you have pretty much every hotel in Vancouver available to pick from.

For a first-time visit to Vancouver, I’d opt with something like the Westin Bayshore, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, the Fairmont Pacific Rim, or the Opus Hotel. Other options could be the Times Square Suites, the Blue Horizon, or the Sylvia Hotel. Each of these choices are so different from one another, it’s really best to look them all up to see which appeal to you and which fit within your budget.

To park at the cruise terminal, enter the terminal’s vehicle ramp at the foot of Howe Street. A Port of Vancouver traffic attendant will direct you into the parking garage. You’ll take a ticket from the dispenser and park on level P1 or P2. Red elevators take you to the main public lobby of the cruise ship terminal. To drop off passengers or baggage, follow the instructions of the traffic attendant to the designated baggage check drop-off area. If you’re arriving in an over-height vehicle , WestPark will direct you to a nearby lot. Canada Place’s weekly parking rate for cruise passengers is $184 CAD .

Vancouver’s Canada Place Cruise Terminal
999 Canada Place
In a gorgeous setting overlooking the ocean, skyscrapers and coastal mountains, the Canada Place Cruise Terminal is a landmark in downtown Vancouver. The building’s five white 90-foot sails have been a national icon since 1986 when Canada Place was used as the Canadian Pavilion during the World’s Fair that year. A sense of patriotism pervades Canada Place. You’ll feel it on the FlyOver Canada virtual flight ride, see it in the towering totems and photo exhibits, and hear it from the historic rooftop horns that blast the first four notes of ‘O Canada’ daily at noon. There’s plenty to do right on the terminal pier at Canada Place, and the best of Vancouver is within walking distance, from Michelin-starred restaurants and upscale shopping to the massive Stanley Park. It’s worth arriving early for your Alaska cruise and checking your luggage so you can venture out on your own or take one of the sightseeing tours that pick up and drop off at the terminal. Environmental And Community Stewardship
Our port lies in a naturally beautiful harbour setting and we work hard to keep it that way with programs like shore power, an initiative that aims to decrease marine diesel air emissions by allowing cruise ships to shut down their engines when in port. The Canada Place cruise terminal is equipped with Shore Power on its east and west berths. Our Blue Circle Awards recognize ships that participate in our EcoAction program, which promotes emissions reduction goals for ocean-going vessels, including cruise ships. More information on these programs is available in environment.

Many hotels in Vancouver can boast breathtaking views this town is nothing if not topographically gifted. However, the district of Coal Harbour on the north edge of downtown has a slight edge on the rest. Think of it as stadium seating for the panorama that unfolds across the Burrard Inlet. Coal Harbour itself is a tony spot well worth an evening stroll recently redeveloped with parks and a marina, the neighborhood boasts a sophisticated collection of towers with a level of design not commonly found in North American cities, and in one of these sleek glass towers youll find the Loden Hotel.
Rooms at the Loden are available in five levels of understated fabulousness, the pinnacle of which is the Halo Suite, which comes complete with a wrap-around terrace for superb mountain-ogling.
