Independent Shuttles & Private Car Services
A few shuttle services have popped up in recent years to help you get from the airport to the cruise port. These services offer either private or shared service.
Shuttle Express: Offers dedicated service between the airport and cruise port. For about $25-$35 per person each way, this is one of the most affordable options to get back and forth. If you are staying at a hotel in the area, you can also arrange them to give you a ride there instead.
Capital Aeroporter: Has private service that costs around $130 roundtrip between the airport and cruise port. While that seems expensive, the price is good for up to five adult passengers. A sixth passenger increases the price $15 roundtrip.
Aces Town Car Service: While not necessarily focused on the cruise niche, Aces offers service from the airport to anywhere in town. Rates run about $70 each way for trips to the port, for up to three adults in a private luxury sedan.
Seattle Shuttle: Family-owned and operated shuttle service offering passenger van transportation to the cruise ports or Seattle hotels.
Getting There Via Amtrak
Amtrak trains arrive and depart Seattle at the downtown King Street Station. The station is 1.5 miles from the Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66 and 4.1 miles from the Smith Cove Terminal at Pier 91. Taxis meet arriving trains. Be sure to allow for heavy traffic around cruise departure times and at other times due to downtown construction projects, sports events and during weekday business commute times.

Tips For Cruises From Seattle
There is agood choice of hotels in downtown Seattle. Some are just a short walk from Pier 66 making it very easy to enjoy a pre- or post-cruise stay and enjoy the sights of downtown Seattle including the Space Needle Observation Tower, Pike Place Market and Pike Place, home of the original Starbucks.
There are fewer hotels around Pier 91 but it is only about three miles from downtown. A good tip is to stay in a hotel close to Pier 66 and enjoy the shops, restaurants and downtown attractions during your stay. When its time to depart on your cruise, it is a short taxi or Uber drive to Pier 91.
Cruise parking is surprisingly expensive around Seattle cruise port. This is due to the port being in a prime downtown location where land is highly valued.
Also, the cruise season in Seattle is busiest during the summer months so parking lots lie empty in winter. In order to be profitable, they need to charge higher rates than cruise parking lots that operate year-round.
Seattle Yellow Cabs from the airport to Pier 66 charge between $40 and $60. Taxis to Pier 91 are three miles further and are charged at the regular metered rate, depending on traffic.
Bell Street Pier 66 Cruise Terminal

Terminal 66 was inaugurated in May 2000. In 2017 was completed the USD 30 million terminal expansion project.
NCLs USD 30 million investment into Pier 66 allowed in Seattle to be homeported the ever-largest Alaskan ship Norwegian Bliss. The liner started turnaround operations in June 2018 with 7-day Inside Passage cruises. To handle new ships capacity , Terminal 66 was expanded from 44,000 ft2 to 151,000 ft2 . On May 23, 2017, representatives from Port Seattle and NCLH-Norwegian celebrated the opening of the newly renovated Pier 66 Terminal. Hotels Near Seattle Cruise Port
Hi all:
We are planning a cruise to Alaska that leaves from Seattle. We would like to arrive a day or two before the cruise so that we can enjoy some of Seattles many sights. Could you recommend any good, moderate priced hotels located in or near the Seattle Cruise Port area.
We are two Seniors who would like to explore your Fair City before we embark on our cruise.
Thanks in advance!
Almost any of the downtown hotels will be convenient to the cruise ship dock and could be walkable or a reasonable taxi ride for the two of you. Our downtown favorite is the Mayflower Park Hotel rooms under $200 and right in the center of shopping and dozens of excellent restaurants within 2 or 3 blocks. Pike Place Market is about 3 blocks away, Nordstrom nearby, Macys across the street, and the monorail to Space Needle and Seattle Center is on the same block.
If you want reasonable, check out Priceline to name your own price. You can usually get a good hotel for less than $100. Getting around is pretty easy. Downtown core has free ride zone for metro.
welcome to ta. On top right please read Where to stay in Seattle, and Cruises from Seattle. it will answer a lot of your questions. Staying downtown is really the best as nothing is right at the port.

Cruise Line Transfers: $20
The cruise lines themselves are happy to give you a ride to the port, for a charge. For instance, Carnival offers a round-trip ride for $29 per person, each way. So a couple traveling together would pay around $60 to get to the ship.
While these rides offer some protection and convenience , they can be quite expensive, especially when traveling with larger groups or families.
As well, they can be somewhat restrictive since they normally operate only for a few hours on the day of the cruise and only go back and forth between the airport and cruise port. If you are arriving a day early or leaving later to give yourself time to explore the city, then the cruise line transfers wont work for you.
For this reason, we suggest using alternative forms of transportation. If you are still interested, here are some recently quoted prices based on cruise lines. Note that you cannot ride on another companys shuttle if you arent cruising on their ship.
Here are some recent prices from cruise lines for transfers. Note that prices can vary. Youll want to call the cruise line directly for the latest price and to book for your cruise, but this should give you a ballpark idea of what youd pay.
- Norwegian: $20 pp each way
- Carnival: $29 pp each way
- Celebrity: $27 pp each way
- Princess: $24 pp each way
